ayurvedic medicine
Ayurvedic Medicine is the traditional medicine of India. I like to think of it as common sense medicine. It’s greatest aim is preventing chronic disease from developing. This aim coincides with the current Western trend of increasing metabolic health to stave off chronic disease. So, what does this mean? It means that there’s great reward or consequence to what you eat, how you move throughout the day, the quality of your sleep, and the nature of your relationships.
In Ayurveda, the above markers can be assessed through the quality of your digestion. How well you digest food equates to how well you are digesting your life. Almost all chronic disease starts with inhibited digestion which directly affects your elimination pathways. If you are unable to properly eliminate you are accumulating toxins. Internal toxicity over years or decades leads to disease.
Thankfully, your body is malleable and eager to heal within the right environment! Ayurveda offers the framework for working with your metabolic body type, assessing your digestion and elimination, and aligning your unique needs with the earth’s natural rhythms.
